TO OPEN YOUR BOTTLE:
1. Remove the protective shrink band from the bottle.
2. Take off the clear plastic cap.
3. Press on trigger forcefully to break the seal.
4. Once you hear a click, your bottle is ready to use.
DIRECTIONS:
Make sure the surface is clean and free of dirt. Shake well. Test in an inconspicuous area. Spray the Fabric & Upholstery Protector 6-8″ away from the surface. Spray evenly and thoroughly but do not oversaturate. Remove any excess by blotting with a clean paper towel immediately. Allow the surface to air dry at room temperature for 30-60 min. Reapply and allow the surface to air dry at room temperature for an additional 24 hrs. It may take up to 72 hrs to achieve peak repellency. For best results, reapply every 4-6 months.

How soon after applying DetraPel® Fabric & Upholstery Protector, can I use my protected furniture?
We suggest applying two coats of DetraPel® Fabric & Upholstery Protector, 30 minutes apart and leaving the solution to dry overnight. It is recommended to leave any sprayed surface untouched for 24 hours, however if you’re unable to wait that long – please ensure that the protected fabric is completely dry before using it as it requires time to cure. Please keep in mind that drying times may vary depending on temperature and humidity levels.
What sort of surfaces can I use DetraPel® Fabric & Upholstery Protector on?
DetraPel® Fabric & Upholstery Protector is a treatment designed for use on fabric sofas, chairs, ottomans, pillows, cushions, tablecloths, curtains and more.
How long does it last?
Depending on the use case, one application of DetraPel® can last up to 6 months if applied properly. Reapply DetraPel® after every time you wash the protected surface with water or a solvent-based cleaner. Protected surfaces that encounter high abrasion may require reapplication more frequently.
Is DetraPel® safe to use around people and animals?
Absolutely. At DetraPel®, we put your family’s safety first. We want you to have the peace of mind in knowing that our products do not contain harmful chemicals that are known to be dangerous to you, your kids or your pets. So rest assured you can safely use DetraPel® on any product in your home.
Will it change the appearance or feel of my new sofa or antique fabrics?
No. DetraPel® does not change the look or feel of any surface. However, we do recommend testing in a hidden area for compatibility before a full application.
Do I need to use any special fabric or upholstery cleaners after treatment?
No. In most cases a spill on a surface that has been protected by DetraPel® will not penetrate the protective barrier. A liquid spill will bead up and roll off or sit on top of the treated surface. Use a dry cloth or paper towel to wipe/dab up any remaining liquid. If the spill occurs with force or is left to sit on the surface, then the liquid will begin to seep between the fibers of the surface. A quick response is ideal, but when it’s not possible you may need to pour a small amount of water on the area that has been penetrated. The water will lift the colored liquid off the surface’s fibers. Lightly wipe/dab the wet surface until it appears that the stain has been lifted. The surface should dry without any staining. If there still appears to be some staining, pour a little more water and dab again. In rare circumstances you may need to use soap to remove the rest of the stain.
I protected my sofa with DetraPel® but my spilled wine left a stain, what went wrong?
A DetraPel® protected surface may still require spot cleaning for several reasons. First, the application process is important. Did you apply the spray correctly? Did you spray two coats and wait the allotted time to allow the formula to cure on the surface? If you properly applied DetraPel® then the type of spill and surface material will also play a role in the effectiveness of the formula. Though DetraPel® protected items can withstand more liquid and stain damage than an unprotected surface, the formula does have some limitations. For example, we do not recommend DetraPel® for oil based messes. Additionally, if a spill is left sitting on the surface for too long, then the liquid will eventually begin to seep between the fibers of the surface.
How much can I protect with one can of DetraPel®?
A 200 ml (6.8 oz) bottle can cover 20.4 ft²

I do like this product. I didn’t buy enough though and had to reorder. I wish I just would have bought the correct amount the first time so I could have qualified for the free shipping! I recommend you buy one extra bottle than you think you will need if you’re spraying furniture. You’d be surprised how quickly you use this up when you start spraying everything in the house.

I honestly thought this was going to be a gimmick. But I sprayed my brand new tablecloth with this stuff, and it was a good thing I did because my amazing (but clumsy as heck) sister spilled her full wine glass. We all gasped and then were stunned at how well it beaded up and didn’t soak in. There were a couple drops of wine that soaked through, and I was easily able to use water and a paper towel to dab it up. Lol it really was like a magic show.

To start I had an issue with my bottle clogging. I reached out to the Detrapel team and they explained the situation and sent me a replacement immediately. I haven’t had a problem since. New bottles spray perfectly. I love how light the formula is. A little bit goes a long way with this stuff.

The product does the job. Make sure to be thorough with your coats without over saturating. My first test was unsuccessful because I realized I missed some areas. Once I applied a second coat my water test worked like it was supposed to. The feel and color of my sofa remained unchanged.

I sprayed a 6 seater couch and it took a long time with the 200ml bottles. I should have just gotten the gallon. The bottles were easy to use, but the mist was pretty fine. I spoke with their customer service girl and she told me they are going to release a more powerful sprayer soon. I think that will take this product from a 4 to a 5 star in my opinion.

The new product works great. 5 starts for the new product, but 3 stars for the inconvenience of the situation.

I’ve been using this since it first came out on Shark Tank. (We are obsessed with the show!) Of all the Shark Tank products I’ve purchased, this one really stands up to the hype. I’ve used other products like Scotchgard and 303 and I would say DetraPel is better than the other products as far as performance. Recently Scotchgard came out with a new product and I find it really doesn’t work. If you want something that’s easy and safe to use and will actually work, then I recommend getting this product. We spray it on all of our fabric furniture, couch, sofa chairs, rug, cushions. It just makes us feel a little better knowing that our home investments have a layer of added protection on them.

I got this for my pillows. Having a 5 and 9 year old who are constantly making messes in the living room, I was a bit fed up with replacing my pillows due to stains. The spraying was easy and quick, then I left them outside to air out. The next day I noticed my kids spilling juice, and it came off completely! Nothing seeped through the fabric.
